We Can’t Love Every Bike—But We Love That You Do
Here at MDG, we’ve seen just about every kind of motorcycle roll through the workshop doors. From brand-new sportbikes still smelling like factory wax, to carbureted relics that leak more oil than they burn fuel, to Harleys that set off car alarms just idling out front. And here’s the truth: we don’t love every make and model equally. Some bikes are an absolute pleasure to work on—neatly designed, easy to access, everything makes sense. Others… well, let’s just say the engineers must have been in a creative mood that day. (Yes, we’re looking at you, whoever decided to hide the rear spark plug under the frame rail.)
That said, we respect every bike that comes through the door for what it means to its owner. We’ve met riders who’ve named their bikes, travelled thousands of kilometres on them, or rebuilt them bolt by bolt after life threw them a curveball. To us, that bond is what motorcycling is really about. It’s not about brand loyalty or dyno charts—it’s about the feeling you get when you twist the throttle and everything just clicks. That’s the connection we look after when we service or tune your bike.
We’ll admit, some brands test our patience more than others. There are bikes where a simple oil change turns into a full afternoon, and models that make us wish we had a yoga instructor on staff just to reach a hidden fastener. Then there are the Harleys—big, loud, unapologetic. They may rattle the toolbox, but we’ve got a soft spot for their character (and the owners who love polishing chrome more than riding in the rain). Every bike keeps us on our toes, and that variety is what keeps the job fun.
That’s why we take the time to do things right. It’s not just about ticking off a service checklist—it’s about making sure your machine runs like it should, sounds how it should, and makes you smile the moment you leave the driveway. When your bike rides better after visiting us, that’s the best part of our day.
We don’t just wrench on motorcycles—we keep relationships running smoothly. Whether it’s fine-tuning your fuel map, diagnosing that strange midrange stumble, or just tightening a loose mirror, we treat every job as if it were our own. Because we know what it’s like to care about a bike, to miss it when it’s off the road, and to feel that sense of pride when it’s finally running perfectly again.
And yes, we’ll even admit it: every now and then, a Harley’s thump-thump in the shop sounds pretty good. Just don’t tell our personal Triumph motorcycles.
(Oh—and before you ask, no, we don’t work on scooters. Scooter repair is its own dark art, and those brave souls deserve their own medals.)
